Philippe Saint-Gilles, a French-American producer/director, has shared most of his life between New York City and Paris.

 

After initially studying to be a concert pianist at the Paris Conservatory, Philippe found his true calling while studying Film & Television at New York University’s renowned Tish School of the Arts.

 

In 1990, he heads his own company, Novalis Productions, created to provide turn-key production services for Europeans wishing to shoot in New York City.

 

Based in Paris since 1995, his focus has turned to producing and directing documentaries for channels such as Arte, France Télévisions, Voyage and Canal +. He also makes corporate films for prestigious clients such as Alstom, the World Bank and Victoria’s Secret.

 

Thanks to his bi-cultural heritage, he regularly teaches Media and Documentary Studies (in English) in French journalism schools. While remaining consistently active as Location Manager for English speaking productions (BBC, CNN, Discovery, HBO) shooting in Europe.
